ABOUT US
Van Vino Vineyard is owned by Dave VanWingerden and managed and run by his daughter and son in-law Zach and Barb Delooff. The “Van” in Van Vino is derived from Dave’s Dutch last name Van Wingerden and the “Vino” being Italian for wine, comes from his mother’s Italian roots. Van Vino came about when Dave purchased a piece of land on a hillside between two properties he owned. Being in the growing business he decided to plant 2 of the acres into eight different varieties of wine grapes suggested from Cloud Mountain farms, a local nursery. After a few years of growing grapes and experimenting with wine making as a hobby, it was decided to take things a little more seriously. Varieties that we enjoyed but didn’t grow well in the Puget sound AVA were also purchased from a winery in Eastern Washington and Dave’s son in-law Zach was brought in as Vigneron and Winemaker. We have since been utilizing our own estate fruit and Red Mountain fruit to produce our award-winning wine in small batches. Because family is so important to us, Van Vino has become a family affair with everyone stepping up to help in different aspects of the business, from planting, growing and building to helping blend, bottle and selling our wine.
